Privacy Policy
Effective October 2026. Applies to the StockPivot app for iPhone and Apple Watch and to the StockPivot quote service.
The short version
StockPivot has no accounts and collects no personal data. We do not use advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs. We cannot see who you are.
What stays on your devices
Your watchlists, display settings and chart settings are stored on your iPhone. If you turn on Sync across devices, they are also stored in your private iCloud (CloudKit) database, which only you and Apple can access under Apple's privacy policy. We have no access to your iCloud data.
What the quote service receives
To show prices, the app connects to our quote service and sends the ticker symbols you are viewing. It also sends:
- a random installation identifier created on your device (not linked to you, your Apple ID or your device identifiers) — used to limit abuse and to count subscribers;
- if you subscribe, the App Store signed transaction for your subscription, which tells us the product and its expiry so we can enable the tier you paid for. It contains no name, email or payment details;
- if you subscribe to real-time data, your answers to the non-professional subscriber questions, which stock exchanges require us to keep for as long as you subscribe (plus the retention period the exchanges require).
Standard connection logs (IP address, time, request) may be kept for up to 30 days for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
Microphone, camera, Siri and the share sheet
You can fill a watchlist by speaking (Add Symbols › Dictate, the Home microphone), by pointing the camera at a screen or page (Add Symbols › Camera or Photos), by sharing a screenshot, photo, text or link from any app to StockPivot, or by asking Siri. Shared content is read inside the StockPivot share extension on your device and is not kept. Speech recognition and text recognition run on your iPhone (Apple's Speech and Vision frameworks; on some devices and languages Apple's speech service may be used, under Apple's privacy terms). Audio and images are never recorded, stored or uploaded by StockPivot. Only the recognized words — company names or ticker symbols — are sent to our quote service to be matched to symbols, with the same random installation identifier as other requests; they are not kept. Siri requests are handled by Apple and run inside the app on your device.
What we never do
We do not sell, share or rent any information. We do not build profiles. We do not use third-party trackers. The "News" button opens your browser; what you do there is governed by that site's policy.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold through the App Store and handled by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Market data
Quotes and historical prices come from licensed market-data providers. Data is provided for personal, non-professional use and may be delayed.
Children
StockPivot is not directed at children under 13 and collects no data from anyone.
